final fantasy XIII an annoying game?

what a nasty repetitive game. to enjoy a game like this you need to it least complete it and go through the game again to fully understand and enjoy the story. BUT you have to spend so many pointless hours and days training just to kill an over the top boss. only japanese people could do this. i cannot believe how annoyingly sad some people are saying there on chapter 10 and already have ultima weapon. wtf. that will take days of boring repetitive fights. when you just wanna enjoy the game. am fuming as i have already started again due to chapter 11 boss. now i feel i have to start again as im on chapter 12 proudclad fight and i only have 1 weapon upgraded. lightnings weapon 2nd form ultima weapon level 21. no accessories are upgraded as i cba as you waste so much time and money upgrading them then a better 1 is available in the shops for an extra 10gil. wen u have just spent 10million gil upgrading the thing. 3 of my roles are maxed out but doing all 6 maxed out . WTF days days days. and now im stuck in a crappy area on chapter 12 were its difficult to train. please oh please gaming gods will you help me.. ps my addy is Twilight-Hero-09 on ps3 if u wanna play

The thing about this game is that it gives you the story line bit by bit. That’s a good thing. It’s the discovering that makes it. Sure if you go through the game for a second time you will understand the story line, but that’s not the intent of the designers. They want you to slowly realized why this has happened and how these two events are linked together.

Either you are new to the whole JRPG or just RPG genre in general, or just haven’t payed attention. Grinding is a way of life for these types of games. They aren’t just going to let you have the best weapon for a few pockets full of change. They make you work for the best weapons. Yes you are going to have to grind monsters to get the items to drop, in order to upgrade. That’s the way it has always been, and that’s the way it will always be. You also say that a better weapon will be 10 gil more in the shops than your newly upgraded weapon, but what you don’t realize is that this newly upgraded weapon has so much more room to grow than that that weapon you just bought.

Also, depending on how you have been upgrading your weapons, you may not have been doing it inefficiently. The organic items, such as the fangs or fluid, will give your item an experience boost quality to it. That boost is behind the scenes though. The more organic items you give to your weapon or accessory, the higher the experience boost is, to a max of 200% I believe. I don’t remember the exact numbers needed, but you want to put all of it you can into the item. Then you use the non-organic items to give experience to your item. Do note that you want to throw a bunch in at once because each time you apply a non-organic item to your weapon or accessory, it will start to lower that hidden boost value.

(Note: These are all just made up numbers. The actual items in game have real values)

Say you got your item to a boost level of 200%. Now you are using a battery core. Let’s say it adds 500 XP but takes away 20 points from your boost level. I’m saying you needed 300 points to get to the 200% boost level. You apply one battery to your sword and you now have 1000 XP at the sword, but you’re down to 280 points. For this example, at 225 it goes to 180%. Now you add another battery and you’re up to 2000 XP and down to 260. Apply one battery a time for 2 more times and you will be 4000 XP but now your next battery will only do 900 XP. So you add another battery and you’re up to 4900 XP. But there is a better way to do it.

In the example above, you added 5 batteries to get to 4900 XP. This time, instead of applying 1 battery at once for 5 times, we apply 5 batteries at the same time. You will get the 200% for all 5 and be at 5000 XP. After it applies the XP boost, it applies the decrease to your boost level. You will now be down to 220 points. Sure, an extra 100 XP doesn’t sound like a lot, but when you apply 20 batteries at once you will be getting so much more XP than if you had done them one-by-one.

You can enjoy the game without mindlessly grinding mobs to get items to make the uber weapons and accessories. Sure it will be harder than if you had mindlessly grinded the mobs, but that’s the give and take of it.

you know, you should spend the time to play it. Its an RPG… normally takes time. and you should have the time. if you dont, then why did you bother buying the game in the first place?

If you read the whole instructions thing and the whole story, and NEVER EVER SKIPPED a part of the game(ex. cut scenes), i dont think you’ll ever get yourself lost, get to a certain chapter with noob equipments or just get bored. you dont race with time in an RPG game, you take your time. Especially the final fantasy series. Beat the game nice and slow. reading the walk tru before you understand the story is just spoiling the essence of the game for you.. if do read the walk tru, dont bother playing the game! you already know what going to happen anyway…

just a tip from an old Role-Playing Gamer: play it only when you have the time

There really doesn’t seem to be any question here so maybe I’ll give you one… Why are you still playing? That’s great that you vent, but find a more racially sensitive way of doing it… only japaneese people could do this.. come on, get real.
