Sony Playstation 3 Slim – Official

Putting months and months of rampant rumours to bed, Sony has finally coughed up the goods on a new slim-line PS3. Revealed at Sony’s Gamescom press conference currently underway in Germany, the new SKU will launch on the first week of September worldwide for 299 Euros and 9 in the States. According to our man on the floor it has all the same features as its fat brother and looks indentical to the leaked images from earlier in the year. PlayStation boss Kaz Hirai said the PS3 Slim is 30 percent lighter, 32 percent smaller and uses 34 percent less power than the current console. From tomorrow the current PS3 will also see a price cut, said Kaz. More on that when we have it.

i have it too with my Slim. its great just giving you peace of mind 
seems you have had a bad expirence with Sony and there Playstation3′s..
I suggest if you live in the UK.. go to Game.. buy a PS3.. and for £35 every 3 years, you get accidental and hardware failure damage repairs.. just take it to game and they will sort it out for you

I think the cause of ps 3 broken is that it made in china. Their quality control is like shit. Sony or Microsoft using chinese manufacturer because they want to minimize cost.

Only the fact that the size is diffrent and the ps3 slim doesnt have linux support. it runs cooler and is more space saving. and it is all at a good price of for me. £249.99 with free game.
Heheh, just sold my 80GB PS3 with a faulty controller for 300£. Im gonna buy Uncharted Drakes Fortune 2 Among Thieves with PS3 Slim 250gb for £200..

can anyone tell me if the ps3 slim has the YLOD?
As far as i am aware (i have the slim) i have had no problems what so ever, and i got it on release day. Currently i do not no anybody that has the YLOD with the slim.
