Revealed at Sony’s Gamescom press conference currently underway in Germany, the new SKU will launch on the first week of September worldwide for 299 Euros and 9 in the States. According to our man on the floor it has all the same features as its fat brother and looks indentical to the leaked images from earlier in the year. PlayStation boss Kaz Hirai said the PS3 Slim is 30 percent lighter, 32 percent smaller and uses 34 percent less power than the current console. From tomorrow the current PS3 will also see a price cut, said Kaz. More on that when we have it.
