The game was released for Windows and Mac OS X in June 2009. The Sims 3 was released to home consoles on October 26, 2010, for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo DS. It will be released for the Wii platform on November 15, 2010.[8][9][10] There is also a Nintendo 3DS version under development, which will be in 3D (although the console itself has not been released yet).[11] It has also been released for mobile phones, such as those running the iOS, Windows Phone 7, webOS, Android, and Nokia N-Gage platforms. The Sims 3 proved to be an instant success, selling 1.4 million copies in its first week and dominating the sales charts over a month later.[12] Critics issued mostly positive reviews. The Sims 3 gained an 86% score from aggregator Metacritic. The Sims 3 is built upon the same concept as its predecessor. Players control their Sims in various activities and form relationships in a manner similar to real life. The Sims 3, like The Sims and The Sims 2, does not have a defined goal, and gameplay is open-ended and indefinite. Sim houses and neighborhoods are entirely in one continuous map. Many people out there as well as game developers want to see the Next Generation of consoles to arrive soon. a 2012 or 2013 release date for the Xbox 720 or the Playstation 4 would be awesome. I honestly can’t wait for the next generation of consoles to arrive, I am ready!! The next gen consoles and games will be outstanding in terms of the graphics of the games and the consoles designs are expected to look much more futuristic and more simple to use. Perhaps Playstation network on the Playstation 4 and the Xbox Live service on the Xbox 720 will be entirely different and revolutionary. games such as Call of Duty Black Ops and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 look great on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 4 and PC. But I wanna see what games like those for example would look on an Xbox 720 or Playstation 4. Now yes we have Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, HALO 4, Battlefield 3 and possibly Grand Theft Auto 5 arriving on the current consoles. So we are still getting great games. Some believe the new OnLive service will show that consoles won’t be needed anymore as the OnLive service is cloud gaming. But to be ohnest I like a console better. I like having a physical device in my room waiting to be used. Yes i love OnLive but it seems like the new technology has come way to fast. I feel that consoles will live on for a long while.
